Regional Development in Anatolia, the Expansion of Industry Across Anatolia and the Agenda of Kütahya’s Business Community Discussed

Esin Güral Argat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kütahya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KUTSO), visited Devlet Bahçeli, Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), at his office. The meeting included an exchange of views on developments in the Turkish and global economies, the economic development of Anatolia, reducing regional disparities across Anatolia, the expansion of industry across the region, and the more effective utilisation of Kütahya’s economic potential.

During the meeting in Ankara, Esin Güral Argat highlighted the importance of Anatolia assuming a more active role in strengthening Türkiye’s economic resilience in the period ahead. Speaking from a business perspective, Güral Argat stated that she was closely following two developments in particular. She noted that the successful conclusion of the ongoing resolution process could increase expectations and appetite for investment in the eastern provinces, while the approach of directing industrial activity towards Anatolian cities outside the Marmara Region could contribute to a more geographically balanced distribution of production.

Güral Argat stated that both approaches were important for Anatolia’s economic development and for reducing regional disparities. She noted that expanding Türkiye’s production capacity across different regions was one of the key areas that could strengthen the country’s economic resilience, adding that Kütahya had strong potential to become one of the important centres of this transformation.

Stating that Kütahya could play an important role in the expansion of Türkiye’s production capacity across Anatolia, Güral Argat said that the city’s accumulated economic expertise and entrepreneurial capacity could gain stronger momentum through coordinated action among local stakeholders.

She added that, in line with this approach, KUTSO was focused on bringing the city’s business community together around shared objectives, developing new projects and attracting opportunities that would support Kütahya’s future development.

During the meeting, KUTSO Chairman Esin Güral Argat also provided information on initiatives aimed at increasing Kütahya’s production, investment, employment and export capacity.

At the conclusion of the visit, Güral Argat thanked MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for receiving her and for the opportunity to exchange views.
